Paintings and Illustrations

2026

Looking for portability while still being able to produce, led me to the creation of a series of digital drawings that evolved into paintings. Using them as sketches and finding the connections in between, somehow took me back to film photography, with which I made abstract but oddly recognisable shapes and  scenarios.  The image went black and white, almost as one’s melancholic state of mind. A small ritual that connected film and traditional painting: An intertwining between Scotland and Mexico, a feverish utopia where both of my realities collide.

Exploring color theory, geometry and the scaling of mural painting, Setting up every day objects against an abstract background, highlights of the cultural shock. On the following season, I researched for similarities between Scottish and Mexican folk tales.Triying to develop a narrative, the images became imposing, quite theatrical.
Looking for a stage to build, while being a mom for the firsta time , pushed me into a feminine and quiet materia:Embroidery, sewing and textiles, An odd stage that once again, allowed portability and a safe envoronment to work around my son. (07. 2025).

2024
Attended Leith School Of Art  for a couple of years. In the meantime, I found out was pregnant. Before this, I worked on a series of dream journals on which I started connecting with other techniques such as collage and  composition. The images emerged frome these dream journals, and expanded the exploration of the self.

2017-2022
After my father’s passing, my work became more gestural and fantastic-infused. First, the abstract were result of  my approach to losing the form and immersing oneself in the paint. Starting with oils, evolving to enamel and car paint, my abstract era developed into an impressionistic and quiet  style.

2016  - Backwards

After finishing Art School in 2016, I moved from my hometown Puebla to Oaxaca where I started working at a small art gallery. From landscape to delusional self-portraits, I enjoyed exploring textures in nature and practiced generating a personal statement from based on popular culture, satire and quick reflections on still life.
